View Full Version : So what's the point of DK?

So it seems that when it comes to GS and DK, GS is the way to go because it requires more STR, which means more attack on ur character, and it has higher attack than a DK, DK requires more DEX, which means higher attack rating and gives better defense rating....but when it comes to pvp, everyone in NA uses combo so accuracy and evasion don't matter so what is the purpose of a DK? o.O

cheaper, looks better in some people opinion. generally not alot of people care about the tiny difference in stat

Ahh i see cheaper is a good reason and it does look better i think....I only like the first 3 GS cuz they look like FFVII haha

if you have forcium armor stats then switching to dai doesnt hurt as much. but in the end its not worth using a daikatana unless you got it either mad cheap and cant afford a comparable GS, or its something so epic that having a comparable GS would be next to impossible

what would be an example of an epic DK that a GS can't replace?

80 damage 14 rate osm/redosm, 80 damage 14 amp osm/redosm, 28 amp forci, 32 damage 14 amp forci, new ic2 forci deathblow 2 slot.

Other than those virtually unique items in our server, GS is the way to go.

the difference between greatsword and daikatana is very small :\ you have to keep in mind dex also gives attack...

and this, if your using forcium then dont sweat it at all really :S

u do realise besides the epic ic2 forci 2 slot potential greatsword, the 28 amp is only slightly weaker than the 32 dmg 14 amp. only about 400 damage difference on pluma according to my spreadsheet.

only reason the 28 amp would do ok on pluma is cuz ur talking about a boss with a high def, whereas if u want to talk about pvp and general pve (bosses that do not have almost 2k def) the 28 amp's dmg gets blown out of the water by any other imaginable epic gs soooo.....no

actually no it doesnt, hits 80-100 less (dependin on def ofc) than the 32/14 forci but if ur talking the crazy stuff that is possible from ic2 (84 dmg 14 rate forci) then yes it is weak. therefore, if those gs/daiks do not exist right now and you could get ur hands on a 28 amp it would hit harder than an 80 dmg red osm so i dont see why someone wouldnt use it.

The difference from GS - DAIK

Is like... 7~8 attacks, nothing to QQ about...

and like 60 defense rate.

is 3 attack from wep itself and about 1 each 5 str to dex also not sure how many dex u need to gain 1 attack

for wa: 1str --> 0.3 att, 1 dex --> 0.2att
If the dai's craft is good just use it.
