One thing you must keep track of as your leveling through Cabal is to meet your character growth.

Not only is the character growth a sort of guide to how to have your stats for that particular class but it also has to be met every 10 levels up to level 100 so you can learn new skills from the officer / instructor in the village you started off in. After level 50 though the growth stats no longer has to be the same and you can decide how you would like your characters stats to be.

When in-game press C to bring up your stat menu, you'll notice at the top underneath the blue 'Character Status' writing, your Growth Lvl. requirement which you have to make sure your stats are the same as or higher.

Notice below the + 1 in my INT, necklaces and rings etc like that which add stats, cannot be used when it comes to the Growth Requirement.

http://forum.cabalonline.com/photoplog/images/246/1_growth.jpg

Heres what you learn every 10 levels:

* Lv.10 : Aura Mode (an aura which temporarily increases your stats and can be used with Battle Modes.)
* Lv.20 : 1st Battle Mode (similar to aura except more stylish.)
* Lv.30 : Combo Mode (when used and carefully timed can combo enemies.)
* Lv.40 : Create Guild / Hoverboard License (can alo mix Aura with Battle Mode.)
* Lv.50 : 2nd Battle Mode (class specific Battle Mode - each class is different and looks sexy.)
* Lv.80 : Bike License (if you find a bike card can ride one of these beauties.)
* Lv.100 : Extra Storage (get an extra page of space.)

Upgrade your Skills:

You have to keep using your skills if you want them to level up, and high level ranked skills is what you want! Not only are higher skills stronger and faster but it also levels up your stats every time you 'Rank Up' sword or magic skills. Getting up your skills requires you to hunt enemies rather than doing quests.

There are 3 different types of skill you can purchase from the 'Instructor' - Sword, Magic and Upgrade.
*Note* - You now buy Skill Books which can be obtained through Instructors or Drops. Skill Books can be traded/dropped/sold through AH

Press K to bring up your Skill menu, here you can see what rank your skill is currently at (Master), how much till it ranks up (21/57), the progress bar showing your current xp till you level up (Sword EXP), and Skill Points available to level up your current skills (Sword Skill Point).

http://forum.cabalonline.com/photoplog/images/246/1_skill.jpg

Raising Magic Skill is exactly the same as rasing Sword Skill, Upgrade skill however is slightly different. Upgrade skills only rank up when youve ranked up your Sword or Magic skills so if you had Master in Sword skill you would have Master in Upgrade - if you then got A.Master in magic you would then have A.Master in Upgrade. Always remember to purchase your Upgrade skills as they can make you character better and can add stuff like HP every time your skills hit a new rank.

http://forum.cabalonline.com/photoplog/images/246/1_hp.jpg

To upgrade or remove your skills simply just click on the skill icon + to level it up - to remove a level. It will cost you money to remove a level off a skill, the higher the level the higher the cost.

http://forum.cabalonline.com/photoplog/images/246/1_aura.jpg

(if at level 1 - will remove the skill)

The higher ranked level skills you deduct a level from, the higher the cost in Alz.

You can also buy or make equipment called 'Adept' which makes levelling up your skill faster, the more skill points on the item the faster it will take to level so try to get a full decent adept set.

Note: Just go to dummies with adept gears after each rank-up to raise skill levels.

Upgrade Skills
Upgrade skills are passive skills that add to your abilities without even using them.
But to level up upgrade skill you have to buy each level,NOT just clicking '+'[which i think theres none for upgrade skill]
Vitality Mastery (Novice+) - Increase max HP
Mana Mastery (Novice+) - Increase max MP
Reflex (Apprentice+) - Increase defense rate
Sharp Eyes (Apprentice+) - Increase hit rate
Offensive Sense (Regular+) - Increase physical damage
Defensive Sense (Regular+) - Increase defense
Force Control (Regular+) - Increase magical damage
Impact Control (G.Master+) - Greatly increase physical damage
Damage Absorb (G.Master+) - Greatly increase defense
Eyes of Mind (G.Master+) - Greatly increase hit rate
Sixth Sense (G.Master+) - Greatly increase defense rate
Ruling Force (G.Master+) - Greatly increase magical damage.
*Note* - The G.Master upgrade skills can be stacked with the other upgrade skills, so you can actually have 2 attack upgrade skills, 2 defense upgrade skills, eg. Defensive Sense+Damage Absorb
*Note* - General guide to "Upgrade Skills", get both corresponding attacks (Sword or Magic), both defenses, and Sixth Sense. Some people opt to replace the lower defense upgrade for the lower defense rate upgrade. There's almost no point in getting the MP upgrade.

Training:
Training, or grinding, in this game is quite similar to most other games, but there are some oddities and techniques that I would like to share with you all.

Suggested Training Method
I highly suggest that you use combo and combo only when only training on general mobs. Things like aura mode and your battle modes 1 & 2 should be saved for instant dungeons and when you're in tight spots.
Using combo is also the best for leveling your skills, but that is not for this section to explain.

Suggested Training Locations
Everyone has a favorite map and a favorite mob that they just can't stop whacking and slashing away at. When it comes to training, the best type of monster to kill would be monsters with an orange or red name.
These monsters give you the most EXP you can possibly get. All the different colors of mobs include:
Grey - Much weaker than you. Usually gives you no exp at all.
Pale Green - Slightly weaker than you. Usually gives you very little exp, sometimes none. (Does this exist anymore?)
Yellow - At your level. Usually give you decent exp, but not great exp.
Orange - Slightly stronger than you. Usually gives you good exp.
Red - Much st/ronger than you. Usually gives you the best exp you can possibly get.

Factors for EXP gain
1. The damage you deal. The damage you deal to a monster dictates how much exp you get from it. This is the reason why CABAL uses an exact damage system (where if the monster has 10 hp left, even your best skill will only deal 10 damage).
That means that each monster has a certain capacity of exp, but the more damage you deal the more exp you will get. This also means that you do NOT need to actually kill the monster to gain EXP, simply dealing damage to it will give you something.

2. Level gap. The larger the level gap is, the more or less exp you gain. The amount is not constant, and it's also a pretty big gap between each color. The difference between yellow color monsters and red color monsters is quite substantial.

3. Optimal mobbing. In order to gain the most possibly experience in one hit, it is best to attack 4 monsters at once. When you exceed 4, you hardly bring in any extra exp to the table.
That is why people who mob 8 monsters at once gain just about the same amount as those who only mob 4.
Keep this in mind for the future. This mostly prevents you from gaining 10% in one mob and making leveling too easy and pointless.

And if you are bored of training by killing monster,you could also try quest which is quite benifitical in term of EXP and earning
Like dungeon quest,which 'some' could be repeatable and you can keep going in to level or skilling in peace with no one disturbing you

Skill ranking and its importance
In cabal skill leveling start from Novice(lowest rank) to Transcender(highest rank)
In order of rank from lowest to highest is
Novice -> Apprentice -> Regular -> Expert -> Advance Expert -> Master -> Advance Master -> Grand Master -> Completer -> Transcender

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab212/NA-CABAL/Cabal/SkillRankStatChart.png

In the end you get the following stat boost:

+96 STR, +192 DEX, +96 INT, +810 HP, +810 MP

These bonus you get from ranking up is automatic added to your state

How does Skill ranking works and how do you even get skill point?

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii183/zkiraz/cabal/skilllvling.jpg

*Note* - If your skill slot has little space,its advisable to unlearn some lower level skill or rank up your skill to get more skill slot

By using calculation,and using Rank,I can determine each rank how many you need to rank up

*NOTE* - A skill do not used only 1 skill point per lvl,if you up a skill to above lvl 9,it will used 2-5 skill point just for 1 lvl for that skill
Lvl 1-9 : used 1 skill point per lvl
Lvl 10-12 : used 2 skill point per lvl
Lvl 13-15 : used 3 skill point per lvl
Lvl 16-18 : used 5 skill point per lvl
Lvl 19-20 : used 10 skill point per lvl

So if you count,a skill require around 58 skill point to be max thats why you have so much skill point at begin with

Practice your combos:

Combo's can seem very tricky at first, once you've managed to perfect it though you can always make it so you at least get an 11 hit combo.

Firstly you want to get your combo bar in the right place, theres 2 places you can have it either just above your character or at the very top of the screen. To change its position go into your options, choose the 'Game' tab and tick / untick 'Combo UI on top', personally i prefer it unticked.

Now the combo bar is where u want it, its time to start practicing using it. Combo Mode uses 10% of your SP bar so make sure you have enough SP before starting (the yellow bar underneath your blue magic bar which goes up by attacking enemies/dummies or dancing).

You can only use magic skills, sword skills, or the combo button when doing combo's, normal attack will not work. As I'm sure you are aware, every time you use a sword or magic skill attack you have to wait a short amount of time before you can use it again (cool down time) so when comboing make sure you are not using a move thats hasn't cooled down yet, if you do it will cancel the combo.

Once you start Combo Mode you will notice the combo bar appear and a green / yellow bar inside it will fly across to the right, what you need to do is press an attack or the combo button as it gets inside the 2 lines at the right side of the bar - if done correctly you will get a Bad, Good, or Excellent and it will fly across again and so you have to press a different sword or magic attack - if done wrong you will get a Miss! To always get 'Excellent' make sure you press an attack as it lands on the right line.

One button Combo: Just hit the combo button to activate the first (lowest numbered) attack skill that is cooled.

The more you combo the smaller the 2 lines will get until you get to the 11th combo, then it will stay the same size and its all about keeping your cool and trying not to slip up.

http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab212/NA-CABAL/Cabal/Combo.jpg

Notes:
Skills have a faster cast time in combo
You do more dmg while in combo mode. 30% increase for yellow (Bad), 60% increase for orange(Good), 100% increase for red (Excellent)

Know your cores:
As you're adventuring through the levels you'll come across different types of core drops - Low Cores - Medium Cores - Upgrade Core (Highs) - Upgrade Core (Highest) and Force Cores. You can always tell if a core has dropped as it will make a 'bling' noise as it falls to the ground, a noise i love to hear

Cores basically add stats to your weapons and armors - low, med, high and highest upgrade cores add +'s to your equipment making them stronger or more defensive (stats go up to +7), whereas a force core adds a special attribute to slotted equipment like HP + 50.

Below is an explanation of each core so you know how to use them properly and not waste them.

To use an upgrade core, Right Click the Core the select the piece of equipment (Armor/Weapons only) you want to upgrade with a left click.

Be careful when using cores on equipment which is +4 or higher,

if fail to upgrade to +6 your item will go back down to +3
if fail to upgrade to +7 your item will go back to Zero.

Upgrade +8/+9/+10/+11/+12
Upgrade cores can upgrade your gears up to +7 through normal means. If you wish to go up to +12 you must visit the Core Alchemist.

Due to the its insignificant increase and the risk of losing items, there are not that many players have done it ever since they introduced the system.

Here is a SOP for upgrading items.

1. The items you try to upgrade to +8 need to be at least +7.

2. Talk to the Core Alchemists in any map. (if it has any)

3. Select [Upgrade] -> [Item Level Upgrade]

4. Put your items in the item column

5. To increase the chance of success, you can put several kinds of cores in the Core column.

Depend on the kind of cores you put in, it adds 1% to 2% more success rate (Max 50%)

The picture is a simple demonstration…
http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab212/NA-CABAL/Cabal/etern1.jpg
http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab212/NA-CABAL/Cabal/etern2.jpg
As it shows, without any cores, the success rate is 10% and the failure rate is 45%.

(Note that depending on the item you upgrading, the success rate may vary)

So…what’s the other 45%?

100% – Success Rate – Failure Rate = the chance of destroy item.

Force Core (highest) = increase 2% success rate and decrease 1% chance of destroy item.

Upgrade Core (high) = increase 1% success rate.

Force Core (high) = increase 1% success rate.

Upgrade Core (highest) = increase 2% success rate and decrease 1% chance of destroy item.

Slot Extender (Low) = no effect

I know it does not make any sense and it seems like no logic at all…

Well, it’s ESTsoft…what you gonna expect!

Consider the effect each core gives and their price, Force Core (highest) is your best choose.

6. After all your cores are set ready, just hit [Item Upgrade]

Note that some fees will be applied for each upgrade.

Unlike force core upgrade, the result will show instantly.

If the upgrade succeed, there will be an announcement throughout the channel you in!

7. The results:

From +7 to +8, there are three possible results.

The item goes to +8, the item stays at +7 (Upgrade failed), and the item is destroyed.

From +8 to +9, there are three possible results.

The items goes to +9, the items goes back to +7 (Upgrade failed), and the item is destroyed.

(Note that if the item is account binding item, it will be un-extended instead of destroyed the item)

* Low Core:
Low cores are used for increasing stats on low grade equipment, they cannot be used on equipment like Titanium so if you want to practice using a core, practice with this one. Unequip your item your upgrading, right click on the Low Core and then left click on the item, if its successful it will tell you so and your item will now be +1.
* Medium Core:
Medium cores are used for increasing stats on Titanium or lower graded equipment and are used the same way as a Low Core.
* Upgrade Core High:
Red Cores are used for increasin stats on the high grade equipment and shouldnt be used on low grade weapon or armour. Osmium, Shadowtitanium etc, are what you need to be saving and using Red Cores on, anything else is waste. Just like Low and Med Cores, right click to use.
* Upgrade Core Highest:
The most rarest of the cores and white in appearance, can be used to upgrade Mythril grade equipment.
* Force Core:
Unlike the other cores you can only use force cores on items which are slotted and you have to go to the 'Core Alchemist' to use them.

* When speaking to the Alchemist, click on 'Upgrade' to upgrade your weapon and then a new menu will appear. The Item space is to put the weapon or armor inside you want upgrading, the core space is to put your force core inside - i also put inside a low core as it will increase its chance of being successful (note: you can put 2-3 force cores inside and can get a chance at getting a level 2 upgrade but its completely random what you get), the Catalyst space is where u have to put another slotted weapon / armor inside and this determines your special upgrade.

http://forum.cabalonline.com/photoplog/images/246/1_upgrade.jpg

The Catalyst must be Slotted +0 (have no extra stats)

Below is a list of the level 1 enchantments and how to get them.

* Attack + 4 :
Item = Any Sword | Catalyst = Blade or Katana
Item = Crystal or Orb | Catalyst = Blade or Katana
Item = Gloves | Catalyst = Blade or Katana
* Attack Rate + 50 :
Item = Any Sword | Catalyst = Gloves
Item = Crystal or Orb | Catalyst = Gloves
Item = Gloves | Catalyst = Gloves
* Critical Damage Increase :
Item = Any Sword | Catalyst = Great Sword or Daikatana
Item = Helm | Catalyst = Great Sword or Daikatana
Item = Crystal or Orb | Catalyst = Great Sword or Daikatana
* Defence + 2 :
Item = Boots | Catalyst = Suit
Item = Helm | Catalyst = Suit
Item = Gloves | Catalyst= Suit
Item = Suit | Catalyst = Suit
* Defence Rate + 20 :
Item = Boots | Catalyst = Boots
Item = Helm | Catalyst = Boots
Item = Gloves | Catalyst = Boots
Item = Suit | Catalyst= Boots
* HP + 50 :
Item = Boots | Catalyst = Helm
Item = Suit | Catalyst = Helm
* Magic + 4 :
Item = Any Sword | Catalyst = Crystal or Orb
Item = Crystal or Orb | Catalyst = Crystal or Orb

(As level 2 enchantments are random, it doesnt matter about catalyst.)

At Level 50 you can start to create your own items

Basic Quests

Yes my friends, be glad to hear that CABAL has quests, many, MANY quests. Here's a run down of the types of quests you might face.

Destroy Mobs: Some quests simply ask you to kill mobs. Whether it be 3 or 30, all you have to do is kill.
Collection Quests: Some quests ask you to collect items from mobs instead of just kill them. These end up becoming the most hated quests in the game, so beware!
Instant Dungeon: Some quests have you enter a disclosed location and successfully destory all mobs / find an NPC / kill the boss at the end. These are perhaps the most fun type of quest you can get.
Environment Collection: Some quests ask you to run out to a special location on the map and get something from a statue or a structure. Very simple, but it usually requires you to run through mobs that are much higher level than you.
NPC Socializing: Some quests require you to simply chat with an NPC and it's all done.

The bulk of your quests will be received from level 1 - 40. On average you will have 5 or 6 quests per level, and quests are usually more than enough to level you up with minimal amounts of on the side training. I would mostly say it is because of quests that people can reach level 30-35 in 2 days.

Be aware that every job has a slightly different quest list, and that difference is seen in their specific class quest list. The quest menu eventually branches off into different categories, and if you are a Blader, your Blader Quests will not be the same as say a Force Blader who has Force Blader Quests. Other than this slight difference, all classes get the same quests and it is advisable to find a friend to party and quest with.
Skill Training and basic Skill information

*Pulled from Force Blader Guide posted by Plun*
*Tip* - Most of time different npc will ask you the same monster
to save time and effort, accepct all the "same" cataloge quest and do all in once, eg.
NPC1: Ask you kill 20 mummy blader
NPC2: Ask you kill 15 mummy blader
NPC3: Ask you hunt 10 item drop by mummy blader

Sometime this might not work when your level is not enough to get required quest, eg.
At level 34
NPC1: Hunt 20 item drop by monster X
NPC2: Hunt 10 item drop by monster Y

When you finish hunting and leveled up,guess what!
NPC1: Kill 50 monster X
NPC2: Kill 50 monster Y

Clicks on CabalWiki link up top for quests.

Please keep up with Story Quests, as they are useful/important.

Can I add something? I noticed that there was nothing mentioned about the Astral Board. it seems there is now a quest for players to get the license for the board. Just throwing that out there...

Already in there, under what you get every 10 levels.

Yeah, working on that, if you spot something tell me.

Venus has a smaller population than Mercury, which has its pros and cons. Some people prefer it that way, some don't.
