Hi,
I've been driving since 17, and have had no bad incidents.
I recently started work and now i am looking for a nice car.

Ive looked at insurance and on a 1.6l i can get around 1.3k per year ins. whereas on a 1.1 i can get about 800 quid.

Really all im looking for is one or two of each, a smaller engine and a bit of a larger engine car, that looks fairly 'modern' 'smart' that isn't going to bust my balls in price, id say my budget is 1.5k at a absoloute max.

Some help would be really appreciative.

thanks Rob

you should be asking this on a car forum not 35year olds who don't have their license yet.

ok well your insurance company is messed up if they are judging you on the liter size of the engine. -.-

anyway you want lower insurance. get a 4 door that drops price dont get a sports car that drops price. make sure it has ABS that drops price. Make sure it has passenger airbags that drops price. Tell them you will only be driving it 5 - 10 miles a day just to and from school, that will drop price.

now $1500 is not alot to buy a decent new car. so your price range is gonna limit you on the things i listed above for lower insurance rates.

but since you have that what you need to be looking into is mid to early 90's hondas, toyotas, nissans. decent accords, civics, camry, maxima, sentra all can be picked up for about that price. they might not be in the best condition. but since they are foreign cars they can last a long time. you will also need to know a little bit about cars to fix it and maintain it so that it will last longer. because if not then your goin to be spending more money taking it to a shop to get fixed and that isnt good.

hope this little spurt of info helps you.
