What makes a game good? Simple the community

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6d/Cabal_Online_Game_Characters_(Left_to_Right)_Force _Shielder,_Warrior,_Wizard,_Blader,_Force_Blader,_ Force_Archer.jpg

Having a bigger and stronger community will allow the game to be as good as it once was back in 2008. Now I'm sure, for all you old school players, you all remember how the game was back in the day, the atmosphere was different...it was a lot better, it was more of a community. I think we can all agree that so many things that were great about this game has died out and I am sure you all know what I mean specifically whether it was due to the hackers, the alz glitchers, or just players leaving because the game isn't appealing nor fun anymore.

You always hear stories of players talking about the past and how great it was back in the day (Refering to 2008): about those 100 vs 100 wars, about the open markets in green despair and desert scream, pvp and pk in ch 9 on mercury side, or how the drop rate was better than now. And then you log in and you look around you hardly see any lowbies running around anymore or at all, green despair is empty...bloody ice is empty...desert scream is empty. You then realize that the game is slowly dieing.

It doesn't have to die, it doesn't have to be that way. I think there is a solution to our problem, we need to focus on the bigger picture for suggestions rather than simple solutions. In the suggestion thread, I see a lot of great ideas, very creative and innovative stuff, however, it's still looking at it from a smaller picture. It is only a temprorary solution to the real problem, and the real problem is lack of players.

If you compare the player population of Cabal in 2008 to 2010, it has decreased by over 60% or more due to people quitting, loss of interest in the game, banned, etc. A game, as great as Cabal, should be growing each year not dieing.

Proposition - Referal Program

I would like to take this time and propose a "referal program" for Cabal. Essentially, for every 3 new players you refer to the game and as long as they make an account and play you will receive 100-700 ecoins or mystery gift item or something along these lines. Do you understand what the objective is here? It's to focus on getting more players in this game, to boost the community and make it more lively.

With a bigger community opens up many opportunities - crafting materials, prosperity in the market, more guilds, etc .

Obviously, EST has a lot of great events and are doing their best in making the game as enjoyable as they can each week; however, I think we could also pitch in a helping hand and bring in more players.

Examples:

About 2 weeks ago, I told my co-worker a software engineer II about a game that I was playing (CABAL), he seemed interested since he kept asking me more and more about the game and it's mechanics. After a whole hour of talking about Cabal, I hooked him and he was ready to play. That evening he downloaded Cabal and started his journey as a level 1 wizard.

Another similar story, a guildmate of mine told his co-worker, a contractor with general dynamics, about Cabal and got him hooked on it. Now his co-worker/friend is playing and leveled his FS to level 22.

See the impact and the difference that only 2 people made? It's just that easy.

From there on, it's really up to EST to keep the game interesting and fun and if they do their job sucessfully, the players will stay and commit to the game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's finalize this

Referal Program - Cabal 2011

The objective: To recruit more players for Cabal, thus, enhancing the community and providing additional opportunities for everyone.

For every 3 new players you invite and are actually playing you will receive a reward (Perhaps 100-700 ecoins, or maybe mystery gift item). In addition, for all the new players that join under this program, they will receive premium for 2 weeks.

The new players can submit a help desk ticket indicating who refered them, something like this:

Name: Ricky Bobby

Subject: Referred by. Johnny Apple Seed

Body: New player that was referred.

Again, this is looking at it from the bigger picture, I think if we can resolve this issue first and then incorporate everyones idea for the other events/suggestions I think then maybe, we can have our 100vs100 war, a stable crafting environment, a thriving economy, overall just better than now.

If this program becomes reality, a lot of great things will happen for Cabal. You cannot deny that. But I will keep wishing for a miracle.

When you want to do this transfer? I think everyone is ready to see your big appearance. Do you think I am bluffing? I will give the money for the transfer to a credible player to transfer for you. What's your answer?

It's people like you that are a waste of space in this game, you have zero contribution and you whine and bish all day about others. When are you going to be man? When are you going to live up to what you claim to be? Foolish boy accept my challenge and transfer over.

I remember back then having 20 channels instead of 15.. Now since this update mostly all the channels are packed making it more laggy than ever. If more people played we wouldnt be able to play cause all the channels will be full. And for what reason would you want a 100vs 100 war for. They took trade channel off because people felt like using the AH instead of sitting on shops Afk all day. If you want the old days back consider getting rid of AH first. Changing the upgraded system. OMG .. and bringing 20 channels back with trade channel. things change learn to play with it.

These are your own suggestions that I incorporated. These are the things you have been complaining about forever, how the game lacks players. And now your calling your very own well thought idea a scam because I posted it. You're ridiculous and hopeless. I guess that's what happens when you get old and rusty, dementia.

I'm not suggesting we go back to the old day of 2008 with 20 channels and take away AH. I love AH, its flexible. You're correct, when their is change we have to adapt and overcome it, "learn to play with it". This suggestion is directed at future players, new players to make the atmosphere of the game more lively and enjoyable for 'all'. Don't you agree that with more players it will create more opportunities? You're also right, currently the channels are full and laggy. I'm sure with more players EST will accomodate us better with additional channels.

I am not suggesting so much as a change in the game's mechanics or layout or structure, upgrading system and etc. That can all be addressed later on. I'm more focused on the big picture, which is the lack of players. I'm certain it will bring back that same atmosphere in 2008 to 2010 or even better.

When did i ever come up with a referal idea?.....oh right,never......I've only suggested aggresive advertising campaigns

Eventually someone will believe your lies if you say enough of them

Did I say you came up with the referal idea (These are your own suggestions that I incorporated)? Let me bold it for you to make it easier on your old saggy eyes "These are the things you have been complaining about forever, how the game lacks players". You're such an old fart, always complaining about the game and the drops and how you want to see things change for the better, always talking about lack of players. Yet all you do is complain like a little b i t c h. Even though your sooo old, your such a child sometimes, I would think you would be more proactive about your own ideas. Old man, I think it's time for you to get some Ensure, your ageing too quick

p.s. stealing in real life is worse than ksing in the game. Don't go to jail again old man.

yes,you did

These are your own suggestions that I incorporated.
Because I don't complain about the lack of players anymore,i haven't complained about the community for weeks now,on any given day during prime hours almost all the channels are full, but you wouldn't know that because all you do is hide on channel 4 out of embarassment

Like i said, keep telling your lies, eventually someone will believe them, hell, you might even convince yourself

How bout we just implement this idea without the need for a reward? After all, boosting the community would be the goal here, not tryin to get free stuff out of the shop. Lol.

Exactly, if we could get more players on Cabal then I wouldn't have quit playing.

Well actually a small reward would be nice as alot of other mmo's have done stuff like this in then past. That big old popular wow has/ does in fact.

Yes the biggest problem is the lack of players. We have gained more players due to the recent update, but its still not enough to bring back the old community feel.
Also another issue is people are trying still to be able to solo everything and get gears to solo solo solo. Well, even though you can solo derk or whatnot, it doesn't help your guild or community if you are the only person getting the good drops and making all the income. How about being more considerate about your fellow players and domore group stuff and just splitting the income. Yes this takes honesty which alot of people lack, but people really are not too bad about it so this can be done.

In summary, yes we need more players, and we need more team activity.

oh and for the most part, just ignore trolls/ flamers. They seek attention and we keep responding.

Happy Hunting ^_^

With the merging of the servers in October, this thread is not needed anymore. Excited to see the new community.
