Another client? You mean delete all the files, re-download the software client (410) from a different site than this than redownload that and see how it goes?

So about 2 days ago whenever i try to open Cabal, the mini-screen (the one that appears after re-instillation) appears and says 'download fail, try again'
and the few times that the start page...
