7 amp is generally equal to 14-15 cd for all classes, i don't see how you'd get the idea amp is generally worse than cd?

i have 736 def and could solo ic1 no problem around 1 hour ish. your problem might be lacking of vamp gears, you should be able to vamp most of your hp back on most of the bosses, except the 2nd form...
