Question about leveling skills

I'm a bit confused about the skill exp... I've been looking for guides for quite a while to know how the skill exp works but it doesn't seem to match with what i'm experiencing.

Everytime i use a magic skill or a sword skill I get both magic exp and sword exp... In fact, i get the exact same number of both so my magic and sword skill tree ranks up in the exact same time as if i were using normal attacks...

In all the guides i read, it says that using sword skill gives you sword skill exp only, same thing for magic.

So what's up with this?

(Btw im lvl 14 so im using novice/apprentice skills)

It depends on class. Sword classes like warrior and blader get more sword skill exp while wiz and FA get more magic skill exp. The skills you use does not concern with what kind of skill exp you get. You can use sword skills and still get magic skill points.
If you're a FB, then both sword and magic skill exp go up equally.

Ok thanks a lot i thought maybe it's an event or something cause i remember when i played two years ago that you only had sword skill exp when you used sword skill and only magic exp when magic skill was used.
I guess things changed since then.
