How to protect your account.

Some of the players get hacked once at least in their gaming time without knowing what might have caused the issue. You can follow this guide to protect your account, though it's just covering the basics. Many tend to disregard them and pay heavily for that later.

Most common reasons :

• Sharing :
  Sharing is the most common cause of the items loss, as many players trust the wrong people and end up getting scammed.
  
  Best way to counter that is to never share any account details with anyone regardless of the relation(ID or Pass or both), ofcouse some will eventually do but that'll come with
  
  risk, I know some will argue and say some people can be trusted, but that's the reason why many get scammed.
  
  
• Keyloggers :
  Keylogger are programs that store the ID and passwords you input for your accounts. Those details are used afterwards to access your accounts. (Includes your Sub-Password)
  
  What places are most suspectible to contain such files?
  
  • Illegal forums relat to bots, alz and hacks :
    Many of the players post exectuables that players download and end up losing their accounts.
  • Guild forums :
    Though some might think that it's safe to download anything off your guild forums, it's quite the contrary as this might be a good place to be taken offguard
  • Unchecked posted executables posted on the forum :
    Never download any files off the forums without knowing its source and having it checked first.
  • Un official patches :
    Whether the patch is for CABAL or another MMORPG, always get your patches from a trusted location,and best would be from the official sites, and always have it checked.
  • Files sent to you
    Always check the files sent to you from another CABAL player on Mail or any other means.
  
  
  What to do if you're unsure of a link or a file?, or if you believe you already have a keylogger
  - You can try " http://www.virustotal.com " to check files
  
  - You can download Malwarebytes which is quite an effecient scanner from " http://www.malwarebytes.org "
  Also make sure you scan your PC fully once a week, it'll save you alot of trouble that you might run into.
  
  
• Malicious Sites :
  Some hackers often design sites that offer free items, alz or bonuses. Those sites are nothing but a trap for you to hand them over your account details like ID, Password and
  
  subpassword and not so far ago many actually fell for it.
  The only official site as stated before, is CABAL.com and you should never input your details anywhere else.
  Also note that once a hacker gets on a character, they'll start a circle of advertising, trying to reach all the guild members and buddy list, if you receive a message of such
  
  nature from a trusted friend, it most likely is not him, rather a hacker on the account.
  
  
• Easy IDs and Passwords Combinations :
  You should never reveal your account ID. Keep in mind that an intruder needs both the ID and the password, if he doesn't know the ID you're pretty much safe, that's why you should never :
  - Make your ID ingame same as a forum
  - Make your ID ingame same as a character name
  - Give away your ID
  
  Also try to make your password a not easy to guess, long and hard (avoid numbers and common names such as spoon,table, etc), as some might try to break it once they had your ID.
  
  
• Ingame GM impersonator :
  Every once in a while, someone appears complaining about the fact some a GM PMed him and asked him for his details, and lost his items right after.
  Those are not GM's, you need to know that GM's will only ask you for details via HelpDesk not ingame. If you meet any sort of those message, you should report them right away.

wish you the best on your endeavors to inform the community. Even though half the idiots who fall for it never would preview the site/forums before hand in the first place, because their IQ is that low to be scammed; therefore, you have a catch-22 situation here.
