Won't connect with server

This probably sounds like a repeat question but when i get to the area where i connect with server, no matter what channel i click on it just sits there and does nothing. I am on the venus server with 2 characters that it still shows. I have read other situations like this on the forum and have tried everything that is suggested but it still just sits there and does nothing. more than likely it is something very simple to correct. what that might be i don't know. the game use to work fine. I am running Windows 7

Are you on a router possibly? You should probably review the thread about connection issues and common problems,

This second thread is about failed to connect issue but, it also is for connection issues in general as many times the cause is common, i.e. anti virus, firewall, router ect...

I found out what the problem was. Comcast sent me a new high speed modem which has it's own firewall. I went into the menu deactivated it and now the game loads with no problem. Anyone who changes modems should check to see if it has a firewall setup.
