why is it that fraps is recording bright or i should say with a white background and i dont know how to change it

Your gamma in cabal is set wrong. Move it too the middle or hit the default button and it should be fine.

Have you tried to reinstall all the codecs in your machine? sometimes installing new programs or games can screw up the video or audio codecs in your machine. <---- only relevant if your game looks fine but fraps recording is screwed up.

You can also try looking into using an updated version of fraps (if it's not already) or just using a different program to record with..there's a few out there, just do a search...
