why my options button in the the startup interface defaulted to 56 rate? That's the monitor's refresh rate right?
I can change it to 60 or 75 but it just goes back to 56 everytime. Why?

Are you sure there is no over-riding settings in windows or device control programs setting refresh rate?, What monitor are you using, some have max refresh rates in certain resolutions.

None that I know of on both counts, except the nvidia control panels which are both set to 60 anyhow (only choice).

What's weird tho is :

On Xp crt monitor (I know, it's old), setting --- plug and play monitor driver, 60 rate, maxed resolution 1280 x 1024, I get 60 on my interface menu options as default tho I can change it; just reverts back to 60 everytime.

On Win7 lcd monitor, setting --- either the generic driver or the acer vista driver. native resolution of 1366 x 768 or something, I get 56 as default which reverts back no matter how I try to choose 60 at the start.

But in-game they both are set and stay at 60 rate.
