again if it affects the entire server its because of a screw up on estsoft/gms.
"Client side" doesn't have the capability of making the server read incorrect data?

so....no one is hacking at all?

editting memory addresses cant be called hacking. its for kiddos.

when the server reads incorrect data its either

    1. estsoft/gms screwed up with the ID of that particular object. This affects all clients who interacts with it
    2. you edit something in your memory in the client. only your client will disconnect.
    3. you send a packet encrypted unmodified to the server, the server could not interpret it and conflicts with the source code stored on the server. The server then sends back a warning or a flag. depending on the flag the user will be d/c immediately or will be stored against the account/logs for that user id.
    4. a real hacker will force the recognition of the modified packet and the source code will decipher and will see if it conforms to the appropriate encryption protocol that estsoft developed(which certain parties released) and the server accepts it and makes the necessary modifications and/or updates.

again no relevant changes can happen at the client side. all "real hacks" happens at the server side and with client. So nothing can be achieved by the client alone.

    huh?

you need the server to think your doing something right.

doing any editting client side will either crash the game, d/c you or flag you.

nothing just from client can affect other clients by way of d/c. if there is then its code from the server.

    What he's saying is...

your typical bot or hack is only modifying their client. What the server reads from them is "normal" or "nothing" in some cases so it's not like the server is receiving anything abnormal because they're tricking their client not the server and still sending the normal data (or none at all). If they were sending data and the server saw that they were hacking, they'd just get DC'd or such. Most bots/hacks bypass gameguard or edit things in such a way that nothing wrong/different is sent to the server, otherwise they'd simply be detected.

While technically if someone WAS for example actually hacking the server somehow yes it could cause all sorts of problems, that probably isn't happening (not that it hasn't "probably" happened before such as with massive amounts of people getting accounts hacked)

In any case the problem here isn't with a hacker or bot or anything, it's some issue with the update. Most likely it's some change in the game that runs some process that isn't terminating correctly (in some cases/conflict with something on some people's computers) and is thus running constantly like crazy using up CPU usage or potentially something wrong with the gameguard update again conflicting with something on certain people's computers. For example if gameguard was trying to scan for X but for some reason with some certain not too uncommon configuration or OS or something it ends up running into an infinite loop and thus never finishes or proceeds with the scan past one point and ends up using all the cpu usage.

Basically the devs need to figure out what the problem on the games end is, which likely means they need to look for a common factor between all the people having the issues as that should potentially lead them to what is causing it.

    its gameguard and the update.

the update because there is a flash(adobe) application running for no reason and gameguard because its draining all the resources in order to protect the addressess from cheat engine, which still fails.
