Cabal not loading

Got the game install with no problems but am unable to get it to start... I start the updater and click on Start Game. It loads GG and then the window with the Cabal logo and the little spinny circle in upper left. Then it dumps me to the desktop. No error, nothing.

Steps I have done to try to remedy problem:

Install as Admin.
Right-click program, checked run in XP SP3 compatability mode and Run as Admin.
Added Cabal directory to exclusions and firewall settings (using Comodo)
Disabled AV/Firewall
Deleted GG folder and have game redownload it
Added Cabal file to the DEP exclusions list.

Any ideas?

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
UAC disabled
I am admin account on laptop.

I have same problems on my desktop running same software as well. Video cards are up to date.

dont need to run in compatability it runs in win7 fine.. is your hardware good enuf?
