max defense effect of bloody rusk effector

Ok, this will probably seem like a silly question to many of you, but I am going to ask it anyway.

When bloody rusk is used defense is only 40% of normal.

But with a good effector defense is 104% or 106%, etc.

Is the 104% based on 40% or 100% defense?

IE with 104% effector would my defense end up being 41.6% (40% X 104%) or would my defense actually be 104% (100% X 104%)?

no, i don't have the effector yet, trying to figure out if 104% def factor is worth another 600Mill alz

I believe it's
(def * effector)*.4
eg (1800*1.04)*.4 = 748.8 compared to 720 without an effector
Certainly not worth the alz if the 104% max def is what you were looking for. I'd wait for GL effectors to get a bit cheaper first and aim for one with 110 instead

I really don't know why they decided to word it as it is currently. Basically its as follows:

no effector is maximum defense -> 40%
defx104% is maximum defense -> 44%
defx106% is maximum defense -> 46%
defx110% is maximum defense -> 50%
