Thread: Avast! says cabal is a virus...Help please

    Angry Avast! says cabal is a virus...Help please




    Avast! anti virus says cabal has a virus And I can start up cabal But When I Click "start Cabal" It just stops and does nothing, I go into my anti-virus vault And it has that...Anyone know whats up with this? help is greatly appreciated.

    i know X-trap used a trojan to find hackers i dont know if game guard does the same.

    I have the same problem but I fixed it by make Cabal folder an exception. Also you can try to disable the anti virus before playing and turn it on again after you done playing.

    Eeep! Better to make Cabal/GameGuard folder(s) an exception. Never a good idea to disable anti-virus or firewall; there are always workarounds for "trusted" sources.


    Lol, I like BleedingSoul's keyboard... it has 5 more keys than Microsoft's preferred keyboard.

    I suggest using Avira, best free anti-virus. ;D

    i use avast and it doesn't have a single problem with cabal for me... never had to touch it :P sorry
    dang upload killed the clarity of the sig x_x

    Well a ton of threads where made regarding this on ogplanets forums. But yes technically it is a rootkit, but it is not a malicious one that will harm your computer. As the person stated above just make it an exception and you will good to go. It will not hurt your computer.

    Right click it (that file) and hit restore, click overwrite if it asks.

    Then on the lower right in the system tray right click the avast! icon, in the menu select avast! shield control and disable it for however long you want while playing. Turn it back on after you're done.
