update78.dat downloading....Download Failed. Please try again.
Hi all,
I haven't played Cabal for around 3 months now and I would like to get back into the game. After I double click 'Cabal.exe' the client appears. It begins to try and update. The client says "update78.dat downloading". About 15 seconds the clients says "Download Failed. Please try again". I can't get it to go past that point.
Unfortunetely my client won't update, so the "START CABAL" button is not available. Here is what I have done thus far to get this going.
I downloaded the most recent patch from the website and installed it. This is really the only help I could find.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you do the update patch to the new EST client? OGP isn't servicing Cabal any more. If you haven't, you can get the patch from www.cabal.com or download the full client and unstall the old one before installing the new one. If you have, the old uninstaller won't work any more. I think you have to manually delete the old directory and it might be advisable to clean up the registry too. (you should probably do that before installing the new client) I do recall someone said they used a registry tool like CCleaner, I think they called it, that can do searches to find the Cabal, xTrap, and GameGuard entries so they could remove all of them before reinstalling.
