Nothing happens after clicking the Start button? alternative solution

ok this worked for me so im hoping it would work for you too.
this is the snake application error.

press Start >>> Control Panel >>> System >>> Advance System Setting

you should see this
under the Advance tap in the Performance box, you should press setting

then your going to see something like this
there should be 3 taps, press on the last one Data Execution prevention
once you see what i see in the (2) picture press on add ( go to your cabal folder and pick "CabalMain" )
and then try opening cabal it should work by now.

yeaaa one little problem, when i get to the folder where CABALMAIN.EXE is at it runs away back to quarentine fast before i click it,or if i do manage to click it it says it doesnt exist

try shutting your anti virus and completely disable you firewall while doing it. ?

possible, but i wanna try fixing without risking something by turning off mcafee and firewall. maybe i will switch to AVG
