    Blank BSOD

ok we just got a new hard drive for our computer bcuz the other 1 got destroyed, and we still dont know what program caused it. Now our computer has no other data except for the basics: IE, microsoft works, paint, etc. and the only thing I downloaded is cabal. Our security is webroot. I passed cabal through the firewall so it wont crash or anything. When I use cabal, I randomly get a blank BSOD. it is not from startup or shutdown. It is randomly when I'm playing the game. any1 know what is wrong? o.O is this a gameguard issue? I typed blank bsod on the search and I got nothing.

Care to go into detail as to what you mean by 'blank bsod'? Are you sure it's not just displaying the text too fast and restarting before you have a chance to see/read it?

Something you can do to be able to see the BSOD message next time it happens:

    If you have Windows XP:
    1. Right-click 'My Computer' on your desktop and choose Properties.
    2. Choose the 'Advanced' tab at the top.
    3. Click the 'Settings' button under the 'Startup and Recovery' section.
    4. Under the 'System Failure' section, uncheck 'Automatically Restart'.
    5. Click Ok on all windows to apply the changes.

If you have Windows Vista / Windows 7:
    1. Right-click 'My Computer' on your desktop and choose Properties.
    2. On the top left side, choose 'Advanced System Settings'.
    3. Click the 'Settings' button under the 'Startup and Recovery' section.
    4. Under the 'System Failure' section, uncheck 'Automatically Restart'.
    5. Click Ok on all windows to apply the changes.

Next, after the next time the BSOD happens, if you still couldn't read it, when you start your machine next time do the following:
    1. Click on Start.
    2. Click 'Run'. (Or type in the search box if you have Windows Vista/7)
    3. Type in, without the quotes: 'eventvwr.msc' and hit enter.
    4. Choose from the tree on the left 'Windows Logs' then 'System'.
    5. Look for the last error that occurred on your machine in the list.

Read the details of the error by double-clicking on it, you can post it here or Google it for other answers if users have had similar issues with the same error.
