Hi just a few things the GM's dont really go over on hack reports.
I have been hacked twice in the last few months, and my computer is equipped with some pretty spendy comercial firewall anti virus programs. I have daily scheduled scans an weekly full system scans installed. But forgot some of the basics of 1st year college programming.

Rule 1: No antivirus program detects all viruses
Rule 2: Use free scans from your antivirus providers competitors regularly
(most the major companies provide free scans on the internet)

I dont surf game sites and dont give my acct info to anyone including my husband, but someone managed to slip a sequence spy into my computer, not sure how but it happened. After fighting with the gm's for a couple months over this, I finnally went back to the basics, and found the problem.

I am now out a couple billion alz in equipment and alz, alot of which was borrowed from friends. I dont want to see anyone have to go thru the headaches I did so.

Make sure you scan your compurter on regular basis. (Use multiple programs to do this)
Change your passwords and sub passwords monthly. (or if you think it may be compromised)
Defrag your hard disk on a regular basis. (Stops lag and helps your computer run better)

Thanks to the GM's for the help they did provide.

cool story.

Did I hear you say "a couple bil alz borrowed from friends.

Do people just ask for alz claiming they're gonna spend it on something and then just throw the alz in their warehouse? Really?

Don't forget password strength either. A password that is too short can be forced fairly quickly. An 11 character password using letters, numbers and special characters (!%^&*), should take more than a lifetime to force. Make sure your passwords use letters, numbers and special characters if possible and that they are 11 characters in length at least.
