Steps you can take to have a better gaming experience...

1.)Kill all startup Programs.
click on start
(if XP click run)
in the search box (or run box) on the bottom type msconfig {Press Enter}
click on the startup tab
click on "Disable All"
Click on the services tab
check the box next to "Hide all Microsoft services" (the list will refresh)
then click on disable all
click on apply then OK and it will ask you to restart for changes to take effect... Restart the PC
when you come back up you will have more resources to play because all the messengers, and other programs that you have installed that automatically start when you boot the PC wont be loading (you can always load any program you want from the programs menu.).

2.) Perform Disk Cleanup
click on start
(if XP click run)
in the search box (or run box) on the bottom type

%windir%\system32\cleanmgr.exe
select your C: drive
Click OK
it will run through a scan
once complete select all options in the list and click on OK
another box may appear to confirm click yes/continue/ok

3.)Clear your Browser Cache
Click Here (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm) for a How to.

4.) Make sure all Video Drivers are Upto date.
Click the manufacture's name to go to their page.
Nvidia (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us)
ATI-Desktops (http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/Pages/psearch.aspx?type=2.4.1)
ATI-Notebooks (http://support.amd.com/us/psearch/Pages/psearch.aspx?type=2.4.2)
Intel (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx?iid=gg_support-EN_01+home_downloadctr)

5.) Clean your registry
its up to you to find a registry cleaner but you want to do this because your computer has to read the registry a lot and if there is a ton of junk entries inside then it will take longer to read thus making your computer slower. You can do a Google (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&expIds=17259,17311,17315,23628,23670,24815,25523,2 5753,25834,25854,26209,26218,26328,26339,26637,267 61,26788,26849,26992,27012,27046,27126&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=free+registry+cleaner&cp=8&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=f&aqi=g4g-o1&aql=&oq=free+reg&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=634607d52d82d8c1) search for one or i suggest using CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner (http://www.registry-cleaner.net/).

6.) Disable UAC (only for Vista/Seven)
You know that annoying box that pops up and the screen behind it goes black and you have to hit continue? well this will stop that .. the UAC also eats a ton of resources. You can click HERE (http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm) for a how to.

Help i used to play on OGP or Global Service and now i cannot login ...

Uninstall Cabal
Delete any left over files and folders related to cabal
RE-Download Cabal from HERE (http://www.cabal.com/DownLoad/Client)
Install Cabal
DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT DL and INSTALL the MANUAL PATCH!!!!!!!
If you are on Vista or Seven then follow the next few steps if not then jsut run the game let it update and play ...

VISTA/SEVEN Users (ONLY)
Right click on the icon for cabal that is on the desktop
Left click on PROPERTIES
Left Click on the COMPATIBILITY TAB
put a check mark in the "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" box
LEFT CLICK on OK
now run the game let it update log in and play.

The reason you are having to do this is because you are either a Global player or an OGP player and have not changed to the new client properly, there may be some left over files from the previous host that are causing issues.

ALSO NOTE that if you are an OGP Player and HAVE NOT transferred your account over yet then you are screwed because all OGP transfers have been finished.

More to come soon.

In no way do i warranty or guarantee these steps if you fail to do them exactly as i stated your system may not boot properly, use this at your own risk, if you fail at life do not attempt this as i cannot and will not be held responsible for you messing up your mommy and daddy's computer.

#2 and 3- All Windows Versions XP and Up...CCleaner aka Crap Cleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) does a lot of nice things besides just cleaning Crap off your comp. Junk files, edit startup programs, fix registry errors, remove old restore points, clear browser caches, etc.

#5- Nice Registry Cleaner and decently effective. Macecraft's Powertools Lite (http://www.macecraft.com/ptlite/), freeware version just the registry cleaner of the full blown jv16 Powertools Suite.

My Addition
Defrag your discs regularly...
