I launch Cabal and keep getting a message "Failed to download server information" I run AVG 2011 and this just started happening, I have added everything I can to the exceptions list. My OS is windows XP Pro 32 bit SP 3 and everything is up to date as I played this just last night but I switched to AVG 2011 this morning. Any help on this matter would be great, ty.

See my post HERE (http://forum.cabal.com/showthread.php?10939-General-Steps-to-Excellent-Gaming) and do step #1, when you restart computer try running cabal again and tell me if you are able to get in.

It's not downloading the updates for some reason or another. Usually, like jay said, this is because of your AV not allowing it to. Without any AV at all it should update without a problem. Do you get any other errors such as ".ERL" errors or "eng_imgrepository.dll" error? Cabal failed to download server information... Obviously you're online so you aren't having any serious problems with your connection are you? I've never seen that error. Launch Cabal again and paste screenshot please. You can upload it Here (http://www.imageshack.us) or There (http://www.photobucket.com).

Wait for Cabal to come back online so try this maybe tomorrow morning. Maintenance taking place at the moment.

Thanks iNub that was going to be the next stage, wanted to first make sure he was running with a clean boot and not interference... and nice work on the eng_ info btw.
