Is this something people do when they hit rock-bottom in real life? I don't get it. Especially when people invest emotions into it.

Some of the people in the relationships actually meet each other in real life. I don't mind the e-relationships as long as there's hope for meeting the other person. Easier to find someone online that has the same dislikes/likes as you, especially if you find that person on a game. Think its a girl pretending to be a guy? Well just gotta get a pic of them or try and hear them over vent or something like that. lol

I did one relationship over cabal with NO chance of meeting the other person. It was like two years ago and obviously didn't last. Since then I've had two girlfriends in real life that have been long and serious relationships, and I gotta say that online relationships blow in every way.

Why do people do it? Uhh,
Lack of self esteem- they create a false persona.
This one's obvious, probably some kind of desperation act.
