Summary of the History of the Old Empire

Long ago in the continent collection known today as Nevarath, people started a village on an island they called Ruina. The island was fertile and allowed for farming as well as plenty of hunting. They slowly grew and eventually became full fledged town and soon spread their area of exploration across a large channel to a continent. They called this continent Pasture because it was vastly green with forests and plains and rivers.

One fateful day, a brave explorer that seemed stronger than typical came across a strange material. His name was Citric Ein. He was somehow naturally drawn to the crystal material and decided to start an excavation team. While he was studying the crystal, which they called Citrine, he felt an unusal strength and energy flowing through him into the crystal and back. After a few months he figured out he could control the unknown force flowing through him and in 2 more years of studying he figured out how to use the force for simple tasks such as lifting papers, increasing his speed when running, and his reflexes. He shared his discovery with all of Nevarath (at the time this was only Ruina and South Pasture) and soon more sites were discovered with the material as well as many more people that felt a force from the material.

In only the short time of four years after Citric's announcement, citrine was being used to build, farm, clean, and almost every other common task as well as sharpening weapons. After 5 years of mining a strange blue material was found under the citrine. This item had a stronger effect than citrine and was named bluestine (which later on the 'e' was dropped for pronunciation purposes). Soon more advance tools were being made. Another excavation site about 200 miles east of the first one two different new crystals were discovered almost a month apart. The two new crystals were a red and a green. The owner of that excavation site was named Osman Herald, so they called the crystals osmium and redosmium. Again these two proved even stronger then the previous two.

A metallurgist by the name of Simo Garrick discovered that the crystals could be smelted with metals making strong armors. Mr. Garrick also had a quarry for metals and came across a metal called titanium. Garrick's partner and best friend Freid Reidel was a legend in creating new metals. He discovered how to create iron, steel, and also created a stronger steel that was much darker that he called shadowsteel. With the discovery of titanium, he took the same concept as the shadowsteel and it worked creating shadow titanium.

When the crystals were first being used, people did not have any defined method for holding them and usually just tied them with leather and strings. With the help of a creative merchant, the first concept of an orb was created. An orb was basically a metal frame that held the crystal in place. The orb spread like wildfire because it looked stylish as well proved effective and didn't fall apart easily. A variant of the orb was created by a hunter that resembled a bow I shape that he used to help him shoot his arrows more effectively than using an actual bow.

As the people expanded, factions started to form which created tensions. Soon enough there were 3 different factions that all wanted to have their leader as the king of Nevarath. It wasn't too long until a civil war broke out called the War of the King. Each faction used their crystals into developing their own unique class of fighters. The Ruina Faction fighters used two orbs as their weapons to hurl objects. The East Faction fighters developed high tech bows that not only could shoot arrows, but soon they learned how to shoot energy gathered with the force. The West Faction wanted to be the strongest, so their fighters used giant two-handed swords that they could swing quickly by use of the force.

Technology during the War of the King advanced very rapidly and the abilities of force users greatly increased. Ruina fighters were soon known as Wizards because of their ability to cast fire, lightning, and other elemental attacks with their orbs. The East fighters were known as force archers, and the west were known as warriors. The war continued on for 3 years before finally a small independent faction that rose from the side, who's fighter's wielded two blades, forced the other three factions to submit.

The Bladers, as the two bladed users were called, forced the other 3 factions to sign a peace treaty. They placed a ruler of the four factions into the position of king. To the three original faction's surprise, the new king forgave them for their selfish ambitions and started a 7 day peace celebration. The king's name was Eldrig Yuan. In only a year, he unified the kingdom by forcing it to be mixed up so their technology was spread rapidly. Soon academies were set up for users of force that wanted to learn a particular style instead of being forced like during the war. There was peace for the next several centuries. Two new classes also came about when some of the styles were combined. They were the force shielders, who used one blade and a shield but used the same armor as warriors, and the force bladers, who used a blade or katana and an orb. Force bladers tended to like the same battle gear as force archers, but there were plenty who used a mix of all three base classes gears.

The next major discovery was a crystal called forcium. This material not only was the strongest, but it also had the ability to hold information. Soon smart tools were being created. A new system of travel was invented that allowed people to warp from one location to another as long as they had the card that had the right code. In fifty years there were fully automated robots that could do dozens of tasks. In another 13 years the creation of a semi-artificial intelligence was created. This allowed the robots to learn new tasks on their own. However, this technology was short lived. Only 2 years of it had passed until one day something sparked in Ruina and the robots seemed to rebel. In almost no time at all, all that people had known was destroyed. All of Ruina which used to be fertile was now a wasteland. The robots continued to destroy everything in their path on their way north. The only option people had was to take what they could and flee in boats since the robots could not go into water. For some odd reason, the robots stopped at a certain point and stayed within the south and on Ruina. Nothing else was heard about them in decades to come.

During the escape there was a large storm and the fleet was separated into three groups again.

The first group was tossed and after a a week of sailing landed on shore. They traveled several miles inland and then found a nice area to settle. They called it Green Despair because the area was a jungle and of the great loss of everything they had once had including most their advanced technology. The camp slowly grew, but did not become a village due to the large amount of predators in the area. Sadly there were not many force users left and the only two that survived were a few force archers and force bladers. They re-created an academy and soon were able to defend the camp well enough to allow people to explore more.

The second group was washed west and in only 5 days were able to sight land. Unfortunately, it was nothing but desert. Since they did not have a choice, they traveled along the shore sending parties searching for an oasis everyday. Finally they found one. They settled a camp there and called it Desert Scream. The camp didn't grow large because of it's location limitations and the monsters that lurked around both day and night. There was only two wizards, five bladers, and one warrior with this group, but a tragic event with two of the bladers and the warrior during the search for an oasis killed the three of them. They were never found.

The third group suffered the hardest as the storm carried them far north and west. They landed in a tundra after two weeks of hard travel. They numbers of people that survived the storm, the two weeks, and then the extreme cold was few. They somehow managed to build a camp and settle in. They never grew large due to the climate. Mostly warriors and force shielders survived, however there were a couple others that did, but due to minority and inexperience, they were unable to set up an academy like the two heavy armor classes.

All three camps did not give up hope of finding the others, so through hard training and teaching over generations they were able to explore farther each year. After almost 90 years of exploring the forests, deserts, tundra's and seas, finally by fate the three sited each other at sea. And they were finally able to re-unite. Thankfully in the Green Despair camp the warp technology was still retained and soon they had warps working in all three camps.

Because a central location was impossible, instead of having a king, the camps decided upon having a group of Sages to run the camps. Initially there were only 3 sages, one for each camp, but later they both added one as a representation of the two classes each camp had. Later on they would add the third to represent the common people making a total of nine sages.

Once unified again, trade flourished between the camps. Sine there was a large number of hostile creatures that lived outside the camps, there was very little to almost no excavation of more minerals. Hunters found out the many of the creatures had the materials in them, whether they ate it or it was part of their skeletal structure. The six sages met in counsel one day to decide what action to take to grow their camps, and one of the sages, Lera Adiko, suggested that perhaps there were other large islands that could be settled upon similar to Ruina. This suggestion was agreed upon as the best plan to do, as there was little risk from monsters attacking ships at sea. So each of the three camps set up 3 expeditions of 4 boats each to search for a peaceful island. The first 2 expeditions found no islands large enough to support more than fifty people, but the on the third expedition, the 2nd boat from Green Despair came across an island with a large volcano in the center of it. At first glance it there was nothing else on it, but upon embarking on shore they encountered large crabs and lizards, but these were almost harmless. They explored the Island for 3 days and set sail to report the good find.

The discovery of this island was a great joy to all the people and immediately one hundred volunteers boarded a ship bound for this new island. Captain Haret Lux safely piloted the one hundred passengers and supplies to the new land and they immediately began building a new camp. They decided to name it after the captain of the ship calling it Camp Lux.

Several years passed by with no major incidents for the people of Nevarath. Time passed by as the camps grew slowly. Several outposts were made to keep better security over the colonies. The six sages realized they didn't have any successors yet, and no one with experience. So they created the Sage's Guild, which was an organization for people that believed themselves responsible enough for the task of being one of the sages. The sages selectively chose and trained those who were up to the task. They also soon added a third sage for each town to represent the people.

The Sage's guild grew rapidly into not only a training guild for sages, but also as other types of political duties. With any politics though, there soon became disagreements, and before people knew it there were several political groups. They remained peaceful none-the-less. A research branch was created in the Sages Guild which allowed new inventions to be created like in the days of before the Revenge of Inventions. As the years went on, those stories started to become lost in only scripts pushed in the back of shelves since no one wanted to read that tragedy to be reminded of the horrors that once occurred. After several generations they were basically tall-tells that people didn't believe.

Trade was very prosperous in Camp Lux due to being a center of the ocean location and soon was known more as a port, so the name was altered to Port Lux. The mountainous terrain of Port Lux, however, prevented it from being very largely populous. Though the volcano was active, it never went off or even cause tremors, so some eager hunters decided to explore around it. An astonishing surprise came to them when they discovered and entrance to what looked like a fortress built into the volcano. They entered the front gates and only one made it back to town barely alive. He explained what had happened on his death bed shortly after his return. To many, it sounded like a challenge of strength, so many force users tried their attempts at it, none to succeed past the challenges it presented. Then one day a strong blader and his colleague a fast and agile wizard tried their hand at it. Though it was very challenging and they almost lost theirlives several times, they managed to get to the anti-chamber to find a huge stone monster. Placing a helm on a pedestal that had a shape slot the same as the helm, a large trembling started and the seal on the stone monster was released. The creature bore fire as it's weapon, but the two force users were wise and strong. They managed to beat the monster back to the place it had been seals and removed the helm from the pedestal. The monster was instantly sealed again and a gate to an exit opened for them. Pulling on the lever for the exit, they heard sounds of gears running everywhere, so they quickly left the volcano in fear that they had just caused the volcano to erupt. The truth was that the gears were the fortress resetting itself to it's former state. Later it was discovered that in writings in the volcanic dungeon it was called the Exilian Volcano, but dungeon runners often referred to it as the Volcanic Citadel.

These two were the first dungeon runners and began a new wave of dungeon seekers. Near Desert Scream was discovered several small caves that had their own challenges as well as a large ruined temple that was several floors tall. The first floor of the Temple in what was named The Forgotten Ruins was not too difficult to get past, but the second floor proved almost impossible. Near Bloody ice was discovered a large frozen tower that had something strange about it. These new places were seeked and tried by force users. New techniques and skills were created and taught in the academies across the worlds. Items that had codes to unknown warps were found buried in various places of the dungeons or the now ancient records of the Revenge of Inventions. The biggest and most important find was the warp codes to Ruina. Knowing it was dangerous, a group of strong force users entered the portal and warped to a small ruined section of what used to be the great city of Ruina. The immediate threat in that area was small enough that they decided that the people could build a small fort around the warp to allow further exploration for artifacts of the past.

A new warp card was found by a force blader named Dedi Jodeen, which led to an unknown world that was not found in the ancient texts and records in the Great Library. The mechanical monsters there were also different than any in text drawings or descriptions. After enough exploration and some research, it was discovered that this was a world created by the robots after they had taken over. Further exploration revealed that this region is where the East and West Factions used to be. At the center of the new world where the king's palace used to be now existed a new form of fort created by the mechanical monsters (they had evolved past being robots with a very animal instinct to seek and kill). This place explored by a strong force shielder, named Raul Marquinas, and five other powerful force users discovered that this was not a fort at all but only an outpost. They barely escaped with their lives.

<font size="4"> As force users became stronger, so did the the guilds and political groups. Two of the larger political groups had strong tensions between each other saying the other was completely wrong. They were the Capella and Procyon groups. The tensions grew so much that fighting eventually broke out between the two. The other smaller political groups saw the fighting as pointless and did not get involved. Here's the messed up and chopped off part:

As force users became stronger, so did the the guilds and political groups. Two of the larger political groups had strong tensions between each other saying the other was completely wrong. They were the Capella and Procyon groups. The tensions grew so much that fighting eventually broke out between the two. The other smaller political groups saw the fighting as pointless and did not get involved. Neither the Capella nor Procyon could ever get the advantage of the other.

Aside from the political battle between the “Caps” and the “Procs” the rest of the world was at peace, or on the outside it appeared to be. Little did the guilds know that there were clans and groups that hated them. One in particular was a secret group that learned about cards called the Apocalyptic Cards that could bring about a Lord of Destruction and they sought them out. Through trifles and hardships, the greatest fighters of the four colonies banded together and eventually learned about the whole Lord of Destruction plan and were barely able to prevent the world being destroyed once again by the Lord himself refusing to give into his other evil side. Though he was but a small boy destined to be a king and a lord of destruction, he saved the world from ruin by sacrificing his own life.

This was the last of the internal conflicts with the guilds and clans. As the camps grew into towns then cities, the desire to explore once again was renewed. So once again explorers set sail east of the continents Haun and Midreth and west of the continent of Pasture. It didn't take long for a new continent to be discovered and the was quickly settled upon. To it's east was another Continent about the same size as Midreth. These new worlds were quickly built on and populated, and soon trade was flowing between them. The navigation from Nevarath was very difficult and took several months at a time. However, an ambitious trader by the name Echsteel discovered a new route that saved months of travel between the “Old Empire” and the New Empire. He grew to become the leader of the Eastern Federation. In the Western Federation a man named Reinfeldt lead the people with his charisma, intellect, and strength.

This has been all that has happened to date.

Yup I was bored, and decided to have some fun. Also if you note the 'writer' at the end's name is based off my online alias. It's his grandson, which will be my user in c2. A sequence of events will draw him out of the university to fighting like his grandfather did.
