so you'd think someone (GM's) would have made a thread helping us out about specific video cards and processors that will run cabal at optimum performance lol, instead of just giving the vague system requirements that they do.

i need a new comp, and i want it to be able to run cabal at at least 60 fps no matter what i'm doing. i currently have a celeron processor with integrated graphics card (lol, 2.53ghz but i can only manage like 13fps with all the settings down, 800x600 res, and camera almost top down)

i was wondering if this was any good

if not i'm kinda considering the current nvidia barebones kit

but there's a problem. i'm not made of $ lol. i have a friend who got a tower for about $500 off newegg and it runs cabal full screen (1280x??? res) with alls ettings maxed at about 120fps, his processor is amd but i don't know all the details, haven't been able to get in touch with him.

my budget is really like $600 total, for a tower and keyboard/mouse and monitor (probably just gonna get like a $110 acer 18.5 inch monitor. kinda can't go over 600 and i know there's sales tax and shipping costs etc.. can anyone point me to a computer that will run cabal at a high fps for $600 or less? lol.

As far as the specs of those pc's are concerned, you'll run cabal just fine.

One problem. Acer s. Possiblity of dead on arrival is much greater than other providers like Systemax and HP.

Here's my system:

I haven't even added the extra 4 gb of ram, or the extra 9800gt that I plan to add, and I run ~180-250 fps with everything maxed. Around 90 fps in brawls in war. And you know how ridiculous those can be.

But if your money is that tight, I would get the nvidia. I just always steer clear of acer. Plus it has the same case and mine, and it's hawttt.
*edit: Just noticed your $600 budget comment.
This one should run cabal pretty well. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5285791&CatId=6

Not bad, comes with the 5850 the 3rd(?) best card ATI has to offer I think. But it might be cheaper to make a PC about the same for 1700 bucks(think that's Canadian currency). Should be able to run any game with this but yea would be probably be best to build your own cause at least you know whats in it.
