Lycanus weapons

Why is it that you can use the core alchemic transmuter on some lycanus weapons and not others? Most of the time you can't. Me and a couple other people have been wondering.

You can use it on the lycanus that have slots to get an option scroll...if you actually pay attention you notice that you cant get lycanus cores, which is why you cant break the non-slotted lycanus

from what i've seen, you can only transmute the ones with slots
