Sooooo i bought me a brand new laptop

and i wanted to try to play cabal on it but it seemslike its working to hard to try to run it -_______-
here is a pic of my Laptop Stats
http://i43.tinypic.com/2vd002q.png

and everytime i run cabal my RAM useage jumps up to 60-75 ish % which is terribad
and my cpu usage goes to 30 somthing which is not bad at all

someone help me plz

idk how to lower my ram usage and can any give me tips on how to game with a laptop >_> dont feel like chucking this thing out the window

ughhhh

You would never lower your ram usage, just go buy more. If you're lagging on cabal then it's probably your GPU that's causing problems. It looks like HP G62 uses an intergraded intel gpu, which is terrible, so you're pretty much out of luck there.

At bestbuy you can get those little things that you sit your laptop on and theres a fan on it. Suposed to lower the heat I guess.

Roxlyn

underclocking is setting your comps fan drive ect to run a lil slower lol....overclocking means to make some of your hardware run harder to try to boost performance..

Roxlyn
03-17-2012, 01:24 PM
you would have to maually know how to do that though....and i dont feel like posting a video to show you how to lol

If your motherboard/cpu supports it, you should go for 12 Gb O.o 16Gb will force your DDR3 in dual channel while 12Gb will make it triple.

An i5 that isn't quad core is fail, no matter how well built the computer is. I don't believe in such thing as "real laptop". There really isn't any point getting 16 gb RAM if it is only for gaming, whereas 8 gb should be more than enough in most cases when it comes to gaming. Well spent money on laptop isn't even well deserved as from experience, you would be spending too much just to get an i5 that is quad core, but best of luck.

From experience, every other big electronic store out there such as Fry's or Best Buy do not provide you with enough info to meet your needs/wants as they just want to sell you a product. Always do a lot of research if you are looking for something to meet your needs/wants. A lot of laptops under 1 thousand are unclockable.

On the main topic, I would recommend getting a cooling fan pad for the laptop but it isn't always helpful. I personally do not like cooling fan pads that blow out air because it does not cool your laptop. I prefer cooling fan pads that blow into the laptop but of course only when it comes to stock laptops that do not come with fan controller but even if it does, most likely it would only get louder. The most problomatic issue I would say isn't just the cpu but the hard drive (as we know hard drive can heat up) and what is connected beneath the hard drive or what is connected in between each hardware. But then again, laptops don't last very long when it comes to gaming, most likely 2-3 years.

Yeah well of course I'd get the upgrade to i7, and I think I might get 12gigs of ram like someone said on here. My friend told me I'd be better on getting a MSI laptop.
He gave me this link http://www.powernotebooks.com/MSI-GT683DX-GT683-gaming-laptop-notebooks-sys-4591.html that with a Built-in Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1102 - Ultimate Gaming Card.

It certainly is a great build especially if it is from MSI. My only concern would be the airflow of the laptop because it looks quite thin, hopefully the fans aren't cheap lol.
