Prior to the m/a, I managed to degrade a +9 helm to +3, blew a +5 Talisman gone, and wasted 25m alz thus far. It coulda easzily been 100 if the m/a didn't stop me cold. Can you top that (un)luck?

Believe me, upgrading won't get any better after the server merger. Blew my last chance at having decent + accs and helm :(

1k pts increases chances by 1%. For gear and belts, +9 to +15 is 36% chance. Upgrade Pts wont reduce the -2 chances upon failure doe. That's why it's recommended to use enhanced or superiors mostly. The talisman, i'm pretty sure it's a fixed 20% for +6 to +10. 10k pts for +6 and 15k pts for above sounds alright.

7600 points, No SGHH, Regular cores only, I haven't failed anything over 8600 points because 100 points = 1% success rate increase.

Yes, I have failed at +14-+15, And I got 1400 points for playing.


It's very quite simple really.

+11 item, Upgrade and fails....you get 1100 upgrade points

+7 item, Upgrade and fails....you get 700 upgrade points

+9 item, Upgrade and fails....you get 900 upgrade points

ALWAYS




*And 100 points = 1% success bonus, trust me, I know.


I think the same way 1000points~1% . FYI I once failed 11 times in a row with silver repair kit (50% success rate)


I'd like to think that estimation is off, and it acts more similarly to evasion (100 = 1%) where there is an undisclosed soft cap at probably 5-6k. Remember Mr. Wormy's core guide? Keep that in mind when using non-normal cores (SCX+ECX). That means that even with 3k pts (30% bonus), and let's say 4x enhanced core high's going from +11, you still only have a 30.4% chance of success but a 47.6% chance of -1, and -48% (0%) chance of -2.

As for Chaos cores, they act the same as normal uch in %.

4. Upgrade points are bull. It's estimated that 1k upgrade points equals 1% higher chance, but they're still bull.

lol I can't even transfer freebie points from one char to another within the SAME account, so much for that bright idea ^^

Getting 15k up lol is a feat by itself. As unlucky as I am in upgrading I could never horde as much as 9k without the freebie, usually the dummy trash item gets to +13 first lol

Apparently, when using Safeguard, it is better to use 5 Enhanced Cores, there will be a gain of .5% more success chance, added to the upgrade points.

Superior Cores are just for true RNJesus believers that wants a +2 while still nullifying the -2 fail.

Since +9 up to +15 is 36% chance, many people will be content with 4,000 points to have a round number of 40%.

In sum, here's what you can choose.

With Superiors,
Nullify the -2 and try your luck for a small chance of +2 (5%).

With Enhanced,
Use enhanced cores with the maximum of upgrade points while still nullifying the -2. (better option)
3,5k pts + 0,5% from 5 Enhanced Cores equals a nice 40% chance of success!
in the +9 to +15 bracket I'm speaking.

I got 11k points a couple of days ago and failed to upgrade a +5 talisman but ended up my upgrading session with a +15 fighter belt. failed more than 10 times in a row

i got p lucky, boots went from 14 to 15. helm from 10 to 12 no fails ^^. spent like total of 380m, cuz buying +7 items and cores to fail them then stackin the potions ^^.

Although the success +1 are the same from +10-15, there's a tiny (but from experience, huge and frustrating) gap of 2% in the fail department, switched between -1 and -2. Summarized here:
