if thats true its probably because itd be cheaper to +7 something, break it, then +7 it again than it would be to spend 1b on that dumb thing lmao

i think the same penalty applies on extended items, failing +8 up would prolly either -2 upgrade, or de-extend slot or both. well thats just me assuming.
but loosing an extension would be like breaking in my opinion.
